CASE STUDY: Parkinson Real Estate Re-awarded BWDBC Contract

Parkinson Real Estate has been re-awarded following a formal tender, the commission to exclusively provide specialised advice to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council for reviewing viability appraisals related to planning applications.

As part of this commission, Parkinson Real Estate will advise the council on the appropriate planning gain contributions that should be made by developments in the area for designations such as Education, Highways, Public Open Space, and Affordable Housing.

According to Mark Smith, Parkinson Real Estate’s Director for Valuation Advisory, Parkinson Real Estate has extensive experience advising developers on their S106 liabilities, as well as local authorities in the north west on various valuation and development matters. He added that the company is thrilled to formalise this commission and was ranked first on the quality aspect of their submission and experience, despite not being the lowest price on the tender list.
