In my first month as a Degree Apprentice Surveyor, I have been getting to grips with the fundamentals of property valuation and the wider real estate sector. I have had the chance to shadow experienced surveyors on site visits, learning how to gather comparable evidence and understand what drives a property’s value.
I have also started getting hands-on with report writing, which has helped me see how the technical side of things translates into the advice given to clients.
Alongside that, I have begun my university studies one day a week, it’s been great to see how what I’m learning academically connects with my day-to-day work.
Overall, it’s been a busy but rewarding start to my career, each week I build more confidence and I am excited to see what the future holds in my role at Parkinson Real Estate.
