This week I dived straight into the world of chartered surveying, it’s been very interesting to learn about different tasks and roles which take place at the firm.
I have assisted in the inspection of different types of sites and locations with colleagues who have walked me through the instructions and context of each case. I have spent time in the Valuation Department learning different software that is utilised along with how to conduct site inspections.
I have also spent time with the Landlord and Tenant department where I’m familiarizing myself with commercial leases and how their component parts interact with each other.
Finally, I spent some time with the Agency team in client meetings and understanding how we interact with different clients, and where those engagements lead too.
The team has been incredibly supportive, and I am looking forward to being involved with more upcoming projects in the future, adding value where I can.
On my study day I attended Salford University induction day. It was great to see where the balance of practical experience and academic learning will come together. The teachers seem to be really focused on helping us through the course and understanding that we will be working alongside the degree and want to help us bring our work experience into the degree to get a greater understanding.
